2026 Capital Campaign to fully renovate 144 N. Nettleton Avenue in downtown Bonner Springs!

Anyone who donates $250.00 or more to HHW during our Capital Campaign will have their name, Associate's name, family name (or company name, "in honor of" "in memory of", anything you'd like) displayed on our "wall of giving hearts" for our HHW Associates, at our new Day and Residential location, at 144 N. Nettleton Avenue!

Phase I is fully funded and construction at 144 N. Nettleton Ave. is actively underway. The essential foundation of Happy Hearts Working’s permanent hub is being built right now- utilities, structural work, windows, doors, concrete, and early HVAC prep.

Phase II: Our Next Goal

Phase II will cost $605,053.

Because $173,185 is projected to carry forward after Phase I, we begin this year‑end campaign already 29% funded.

What Phase II Builds

Phase II moves HHW significantly closer to completing a fully accessible, purpose‑built space for adults with I/DD. It includes:

  • Building addition and excavation

  • Concrete and masonry

  • Metal stairs

  • Doors and hardware

  • Rough carpentry

  • Roofing and soffit

  • Fire suppression

  • HVAC

  • Accessible elevator

One of the most important components is the HydroFit elevator, estimated at $105,000+, ensuring safe, reliable access for Associates with mobility needs. Accessibility is not optional- it’s essential to independence. Your Gift Builds More Than a Building.
